The Science Behind Function.

Moviq Health brings the rigor of biomechanics into patient care. Under controlled conditions, gait, force, and balance become objective, repeatable measurements of function, giving physicians a clearer way to understand recovery and track change over time.

01 · Why a lab

Why Movement
Needs a Lab.

Movement contains valuable health data that can help physicians understand how a patient is functioning, measure recovery, and make data driven decisions about care. We measure this data under controlled conditions to objectively quantify movement, force, and balance, compare results with healthy reference values, and track functional change over time.

01

Control

Measure under controlled conditions.

Standardized conditions reduce variation between assessments, making changes easier to identify.

02

OBJECTIVE DATA

Quantify beyond observation.

Instrumented measurement captures biomechanical data at millimeter precision.

03

HEALTHY REFERENCE

Compare every result in context.

Published research provides healthy reference values, allowing each result to be compared with data from a healthy population.

04

FUNCTIONAL CHANGE

Track changes over time.

Repeated measurement shows whether function is improving, declining, or remaining unchanged throughout an episode of care.

02 · What happens inside the lab

Three systems.
One view of function.

Moviq Health uses instrumented systems to capture gait, force, and balance under controlled conditions, turning movement into objective biomechanical data.

  1. 3D Gait Capture

    Gait

Reflective markers are placed on the patient’s body while the patient walks on a treadmill at a comfortable speed. Multi-infrared cameras measure the movement of the markers directly, capturing spatiotemporal metrics.

  2. Force Plate

    Force

The patient stands on dual force plates that sample at 960 Hz with precision to 0.15 N. During jumping and squats, the plates measure ground reaction force over time.

  3. Balance Plate

    Balance

The patient stands on the balance plate while surface conditions and visual cues are changed. The system measures postural sway displacement in centimeters.

03 · Standardization

Control the Conditions.
Make Change Meaningful.

Healthcare is built on standardized data. We apply the same discipline to movement to measure how patients function, track how that function changes, and give clinicians objective data to guide care.

04 · Longitudinal measurement

True Change Requires
More Than One Measurement.

A single measurement shows where a patient stands. Repeated measurements show whether function is improving, declining, or remaining unchanged. By measuring the same metric under the same conditions across an entire episode of care, we make meaningful changes visible over time.

What movement reveals

Movement contains the data.
We make it measurable.

Movement contains an enormous amount of health data. Moviq Health measures gait, force, and balance under controlled conditions, creating objective data physicians can use to understand function, compare results with healthy reference values, and track change over time.

  • Gait

    3D Gait Capture

Measure how the body moves through space, from speed and step length to timing and symmetry.

  • Force

    Force Plates

Measure how the body generates and transfers force during movement, from sit to stand to dynamic loading.

  • Balance

    Balance Plate

Measure how the body maintains stability as surface conditions and visual information change.
